Gopal Patel is a first generation Indian American raised in suburban Pennsylvania. He developed an entrepreneurial spirit at an early age. As a teenager he developed software for the family sprockets and gizmos business, and solutions for local small service businesses. Among the brightest of his school, people often believed he would become a Doctor, and still today mistake him for one. But Gopal had other plans.
After calculating the net inefficiencies of such medical pursuits, Gopal realized his path was destined to take full advantage of American late-stage capitalism. He decided to ruthlessly study which field would allow him to have maximum impact with least resistance. This led him to attend the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University, where he studied both Computer Science and Electrical & Computer Engineering. Gopal recognized that computers were uniquely capable of allowing him to share his brilliant gifts with the world from the comfort of a simple multi-purpose desk chair. He knew he was on to something when he realized he could solve the world’s most complex issues from the exact same place where he could also take a nap, eat a hot-pocket, develop a fine cocktail, or watch Friends on repeat. Who knew so much could be accomplished from a coffee-stained run-down IKEA chair in the confines of a mediocre college fraternity. His relentless focus on academic excellence paired with an insatiable appetite for friendship, led him to a polished mind and a soothed soul. It would only be later that he realized the true risks of technology, on which he would later build as the foundation for his Presidential campaign.
Fast-forward over 10 years post-graduation, and Gopal has since led a prolific adulthood in Silicon Valley. He’s led engineering initiatives for a major fortune 500 company, started and sold his own technology company, bought his own property, and has since even started yet another company. Hell, he’s even tried every pizza in New York City, and made more ice cream than Ben & Jerry combined. That’s right, you add Chef Gopal to the list of could-be-careers.
Gopal’s most defining moment in adulthood occurred thanks to a close partnership with Vision Quest Inc to offer a “gap year” filled with soul-searching and aimfull wandering. He knew he needed ample space from the shackles of corporate greed if he were to truly realize his full potential. Vision Quest dually agreed, and sent him with a one-way-ticket to New York City, among other places, with the full benefits of the “quarter-life crisis diamond package”. This inward journey would take him across the coasts and back, and further deepen his sense of community values and friendships.
Nearing the end of his vision quest, Gopal was back in San Francisco exploring and developing his newly found physical prowess with his handsome trainer, Diego, when it hit him like a ton of hot-pockets. As Diego was entering in the number of squats Gopal had impressively completed into his pocket computer, Gopal had a sudden stroke of genius. “WAIT DON’T!”, he exclaimed at Diego. By his calculations, Gopal realized the application Diego was using to compute his true physical potential, was also likely unknowingly sending fitness data to the Russian government to help them develop, “The AI”. He quickly hacked Diego’s phone, and just as he suspected, bits of code were being streamed to Russian servers. Within a few clicks, Gopal saw a flash of a robot-driven apocalypse fly before his eyes.
It was only then that Gopal truly realized how to best apply the fruitful gifts of technical skill he’d so developed from various IKEA chairs over 10+ years. He knew the country needed something more to protect and serve its inhabitants. He knew THE WORLD needed his squat thrusting genius to propel itself into the future it deserved. He and his trusty partner Simi, set their sits on the 2020 campaign to end all campaigns. A campaign designed to protect everyone from the clear dangers of AI, and the less-clear but ever-present risks of overpopulation.
